VM installed my 50mb yesterday...

The bloke wasnt very friendly and was questioning me about why i need such fast internet and what il be using it for, he then went on about how i should be very aware of illigal file downloading and sharing as they get a report every month saying who is downloading what.. are they trying to scare us or are people actually getting letters caus they download with torrents and rapidshare etc?

On the other hand he said certain firewalls will slow down your internet as they cant read the packets fast enough.

Hello mate, sounds like guy was a bit of an ass. can you tell me what part of uk ur from & what your speeds are like as im thinking of geting 50 Meg Service to.

I had my 50 meg installed on saturday and although the install chap was very nice, curtious and gratefull of the irish coffee, he didnt seem to know much about the 50 meg kit or even what docsis it ran on.

thanks for the replies, im in Brighton which has only recently been able to get 50mb. He new quite alot about the network docsis 3 etc, it seemed anyway..he did say he had a mac too :s

They can only tell what your downloading if they use DPI or get your IP address from torrents or p2p progs
