V+ install tomorrow!

My V+ install is tomorrow afternoon. Is it 100% OK to leave my digisneder connected to old Pace box and when the tech arrives they will connect it up to my new V+ box, with my DVD recorder?

Will they leave me teh HDMI lead if I explain hoping to get HD TV in March?

Do they just remove old box and plug into existing SCART connections from old box and PSU? Or do they use new Scart leads and PSU?

Lastly is it up and running with all channels whilst they here or does it take time to boot up / work?

Thanks

Re: V+ install tomorrow!

I'd discuss the digisender with the installer on the day - it isn't part of a standard install & will rely on his goodwill.

He will leave you an HDMI lead if you ordered one at the time you booked the installation, otherwise probably no - but they can be bought for less than a fiver, try Argos.

Our installer used new flat scart leads to replace the old round ones, but that is no guarantee - I didn't check the psu ....

The setup to confirm you are getting the return path for VOD is one issue - how they deal with confirming your HD feed without you having an HD telly is another, I don't know about that, we had the HD telly & it didn't take long- but they should get it going as best it can before they go. (Our installer ran through the basic options for recording off the EPG, etc, before he left, for example)

Is there a way of checking you have an HD feed then? My letter from VM says supply HDMI lead, so that should be OK.

Thanks

Don't worry about that. If you get can a picture with your scart connection the HD element will be there when you need it.

When you get your HD TV and use the HDMI lead you will automatically get the HD picture on HD programs carried by VM, it's not some thing that has to be enabled by VM at a later date.

I'd buy your own HDMI lead. The one left for me packed up after a few months. I thought the television had gone wrong...
