Re: Virgin Media Boosts Millions of Broadband Connections
I'm not one to crow but would BenMcr care to comment on his posts 35, 39 and 42 on this closed thread, regarding the 2-10Mb upgrade back in November?:

Re: Virgin Media Boosts Millions of Broadband Connections
Hopefully it's not a case of them upgrading people they think wont even affect the networks performance just so they have 'bragging rights' over other ISP's. If thats true from BenMcr then UBR's could be hitting their limits all over the country....

Re: Virgin Media Boosts Millions of Broadband Connections
may I ask, seeing as the current 10mb users are paying quite alot of more money than the 2mb users, and suddenly 2mb get upgraded for free and they still pay the old price, will the current 10mb users see a reduction in their service charges?
if not, then I dont think it is fair.

They aren't getting rid of the 2mb tier.
Customers will be able to stay on it or new customers can be put on 2meg. It is to be a budget 'no frills' service and will be labeled 'S'.
So we will have S-M(10 meg)-L-XL-XXL

Not according to the press release which says:
Quote:
Virgin Media’s new fibre optic product portfolio now comprises ‘up to 10Mb’, ‘up to 20Mb’ and the recently launched ultrafast ‘up to 50Mb’ service.

Re: Virgin Media Boosts Millions of Broadband Connections
Yes because they will only advertise L/XL/XXL. Size S will be only avalaible if you ask for it. But it won't be worth going for

Re: Virgin Media Boosts Millions of Broadband Connections
The new 10 mb will probably have 500 mb stm`s or something, then it goes down to 2mb
Honestly though, virgin need to step up and tell us whats going on with the old 10mb subscribers? They need to work out the new stm system for the two tiers before they upgrade, because it just wont be fair having two people on 10mb paying a diff price.
