Hi there, Im currently using the internet via an ethernet cable connection/scientific atlanta modem, but trying to link up my new laptop via an old netgear router as the lapy has a built in wireless service. Not knowing any of the passwords etc for the netgear is it atall possible to get connected using this equipment???? The lapy is running on windows vista whilst this main computer is running on windows xp if that makes a difference.
Any comments or suggestions would be much appreciated.
Many thanks.

First things first turn off your modem, then at the back of the router stick a pin etc into the small hole (reset button) for about 10 seconds, this should default the router setting to when it left the factory, turn modem back on and type this into IE, http://192.168.0.1/ this should bring up the web based router log on page make sure User is admin and password is password
