Re: 50Mb areas

I checked the VM post code checker to see if I can get 50megabit cable broadband and I can confirm that I can receive the 50meg service in my area now. I am on CMTS08Uddingston. My VM selfcare shows that an upgrade to XXL is available. So, I think Uddingston is a ready for 50meg broadband. I am not sure if all Uddingston UBR's are ready?

There are no plans to upgrade XL/20Mbit customers to XXL/50Mbit, never have been.

As Broadbandbug said a few posts back, they don't need to be. If you sign up to 50 meg, you will be moved onto a 50 meg capable CMTS.

I'm pleased to tell you that Peterborough is in the next phase; we're currently expecting to launch in your area on 29th January.

Do make sure you're pre-registered to be alerted as soon as the service is available and please don't hesitate to contact me with any queries.

Re: 50Mb areas

Hi,

My selfcare shows XXL as available for upgrade but the postcode checker says that 50Mb is not available...

Nothing like clear communication is there ! Does anyone know which is liable to be correct ?

I'm in Preston, Lancs if that helps...

TIA

Bri

Could be that the Postcode checker hasn't been updated just yet. However I imagine that selfcare should be correct out of the two.

You would think, but Preston isn't a 50Mbit area (yet)

Re: 50Mb areas

I live in Blackpool but I believe my connection comes under Preston. Just out of curiosity do you know when Preston gets the 50mbit upgrade. I don't really need a precise date just a rough guess if you have some idea.

Due to previous leaks from internal information, staff basically get told the day stuff happens now

Re: 50Mb areas

We're in PE27 area - which is a Peterborough post code yet St Ives is classed as Cambridgeshire - anyone know if this area got upgraded?

Re: 50Mb areas

AFAIK the postcode checker should be accurate (it's selfcare that seems a bit out)
