Re: How dangerous is a laptop charger?

Or why not just buy a new laptop, new house and new electrical installation, or even better - buy candles and go live in a cave... funny people, do some physics reading before you post such rubbish statements.

Re: How dangerous is a laptop charger?

It is the pin on the laptop that's broken.

Going to solder it eventually I reckon.

Depending on the actual laptop it can be relatively easy to replace the DC Jack completely or incredibly difficult.
I just did an Acer Aspire for someone recently and the Jack was not even attached to the Motherboard but connected to wires which then ran to the board. That was a piece of cake that one.

Re: How dangerous is a laptop charger?

Laptop chargers are not dangerous, unfortunately its unquallified members of the public trying to repair items that are dangerous.

That may be quite true but it`s also quite funny considering how many of the "qualified experts" out there are complete cowboys themselves.Besides,i`m sure you know much it costs to have a DC Jack replaced by the "experts".Some people just dont want to spend more than their laptop is actually worth to try get it fixed.
