Re: Football : Season 08/09
Haven't you guys been saying that for about 4 years now? No not just about winning the premiership, I mean about winning....anything? I mean, as a bible basher I know all about 'blind faith' etc...

Re: Football : Season 08/09
UTD sunk, classic, we where sunk last year and the year before as well. It will be back to UTD fans are arrogant when we are back come May giving it some. Arsenal are just the latest in a long line of teams that have and will benefit from arguably the best strike force in Europe, for some unknown reason, only bagging a goal per 10 created, it's an enigma. Arsenal played well today tbh, another wannabe big team that raises their game when a real big team arrives in town

Re: Football : Season 08/09
I watched this in a pub in Nottingham with my mates. There was a mouthy Gunners supporter behind us, and I said to my mate "if United get a draw out of this, I'm buying him a pint, just to shut him up". As it happened, that never occured, and he was still mouthy. Good game though, smiled when Nasri got his second since that was a wicked deflection and otherwise heading straight for the goalie. Rafael's goal was a peach though. Shame Rooney or Ronaldo, or even Walcott couldn't do anything similar to it. And Utd have a game in hand on the top 4, so things could turn faster yet!
I look forward to the rematch at the Theatre of Dreams in a few months time.
The only thing Arsenal will probably be close to winning this season is the Carling Cup or the FA Cup. The strike force is far too young to be up against anything as good as Utd's defence in the Premiership or Europe *consistently* (i.e over the whole season), and I wouldn't be surprised to find Arsenal 4th this year. Heck, they even lost to Stoke of all teams, and they're mid-table! Think it's Chelsea, Liverpool and Man Utd challenging for the title, Utd by a couple of points at the last.

Re: Football : Season 08/09
LMAO! Chelsea and Liverpool out of the league cup. Serves them right for chucking out "youth" teams against determined opposition.
The BBC text for the Tottenham vs Liverpool game was hilarious to read though, the writer was getting so exasperated with various players including Gomes.

They often are. Gomes is rubbish anyway, Robinson is much better. No idea why they decided he was an improvement.
I think Jonathan Stevenson, who often does them, is a Forest fan...

Are Cudicini, Alex, Belletti, Lampard, Bridge, Ferreira, Deco, Mikel, Malouda, Drogba and Kalou Chelsea's youth team?

Villas best result of the season so far (particularly when you take into account our shocking performances against Newcastle and Boro).
If we can keep this up, I'm actually sneakily confident about finishing in (whisper it) fourth place
