Last week my connection went from fairly reasonable to extremely poor. I think its because the students are back. Web pages fail to load, time out after waiting 30 secs etc. When the content of a web page finally appears it seems the stylesheet hasn't loaded so the layout is funny - clicking refresh sometimes solves it, unless the whole page fails to loads at all.
Used Dan Elwell's speed test - ping times really slow and packet loss anywhere between 5 and 50% (different every time I run it).
I'm on the 4Meg services. Usually use a wireless network but these results are when I plug computer directly in to the modem. Makes no difference.
Is it worth complaining about? Nothing has happened in the past although I sometimes get a couple of months at half price. Engineer has been out previously but blames it on an oversubscribed network so can't do anything.
