Hello. I'm using two machines, one with xp home and other with pro installed. I am trying to share the DVD drive on my home machine on the network, so that I can use it from the pro machine. Any ideas how to go about doing this? I've tried right clicking on the DVD drive icon (on xp home machine) to enable network access, but the "Sharing" tab is not even there.... Help please!

Try booting into Safe Mode and log in as Administrator.
There's still one problem.. the reason why i needed to have access to the DVD drive on the xp home computer was to burn a DVD movie on it from the xp pro computer. however the application i'm using for the purpose (Roxio's DVD builder) does not seem to support writing across to a DVD drive on the network.. so in the end, the problem is still there. any ideas?

Yes, copy the movie to the XP home machine and burn it there. CD/DVD burning software does not support devices that are not local because there is no way to get their capabilities across the network.
