The 3870 is around the same price or a touch more and actually out performs it in benchmarks. However if you hunt around you can get the 8800GT for the same price. If however you want to take advantage of Amd/atis better HD with audio over HDMI support I would opt with the 3870

Really looking for the audio over HDMI and the excellent Avivo HD, not really for gaming although the bench's are quite good for a card of this price, low power usage and very quiet.
Seen 2 different 3870's on the go and a bit to loud for where this card will be placed, (in the bedroom) silence is golden
