http://www.bethere.co.uk are running a deal on their 8Mbit download 1.3Mbit upload product. £8 / month until the end of the year then £14 a month after that with £24 connection fee.
Might be of interest to people not in a cable area, or who want extra upload for less moolah. It's very unlikely for someone to see less than 1Mbit upload on ADSL2+

If Virgin's BB connection is crap, why wait that long? On their own branded services (not O2 branded) Be offer a 3 month contract and you can even buy your way out of that.
