Does the google toolbar work on it? That's where I store all my favourites.

re: Google Launches Internet Browser - Chrome
It's pants.
Windows XP install crashed with a message window "welcome to google chrome" stuck in the midst of my screen. Bookmarks didn't install from Firefox despite the promises.
Worst of all though it won't run websites I am forced to use for work that have something going on in the background like active-x applets. If it can't handle those, it's no better or worse than Firefox, and for many business users will be as useful as a chocolate fireguard.

Imported all my Firefox settings perfectly including the toolbar, converted all the favicon only bookmarks correctly too.
Nthellworld.co.uk looks a mess on it mind.

I've noticed it seems to be 'doing something' in the background a lot, I can hear my HD buzzing away and task manager is showing Chrome is up to something.

I'm back on FF3 now.

Same here FF3 until such time as there is a adblock in Chrome

re: Google Launches Internet Browser - Chrome
I like it, its fast and intuitive but it requires as others have said an ad blocker, cant stand ad's. Not many options to play with and I'm wondering what googleupdate.exe is, also although I have 1 instance of the browser open there are 4 instances of chrome.exe running.
Back to FF3 for me.

Does the number of instances tie up with the number of tabs you have open?

Ye, the more tabs you have open, the more resources the system uses. I have 10 tabs open in Opera at the moment, and it's using up 111MB of memory.

Also, and I dont know if it is connected with the installation and subsequent uninstall of Chrome but whenever I right click on an image in FF3 and try to save the image FF throws error and crashes and it wasnt doing it yesterday.

In case anyone wanted a reason not to use Chrome and stick with Firefox, here are several. Read /.

Much ink and many electrons are being spilled over Google's Chrome browser (discussed here twice in recent days): from deep backgrounders to performance benchmarks to its vulnerability to a carpet-bombing flaw. The latest angle to be explored is Chrome's end-user license agreement. It does not look consumer-friendly.

Just had it removed from the systems that I'm responsible for (even though we were only trialling it in VM Workstation) and won't be allowing it back on them until it's had a lot more scrutiny and a lot of questions have been asked and answered.

Why would google want to introduce an adblocker when they rely so heavily on adsense to make money?
