This has made me laugh, although proved complete bs already, if you look at his grabit pic you can see the '4' he used pasted 3 times over the 'threads' section! not even any points for photoshop editing!

I'm sure that's news to Virgin Media considering it's running EuroDOCSIS 1.

Looks like Ambit need to tidy up their product manuals too. According to the data sheet for that modem it can't actually support EuroDOCSIS - the data rate given on the spec sheet that was linked has nothing about EuroDOCSIS in it only DOCSIS. Symbol rate is DOCSIS and only shows 64QAM not 256QAM despite claims to support it (on normal DOCSIS 256QAM has a different symbol rate), download rates given are pre-overheads and DOCSIS, upstream frequency range is DOCSIS.

It should look something like http://broadband.motorola.com/catalo...5110_001_a.pdf

Cool 50 Mbps Internet WITH PICTURES!

Hi guys,

Was on my usenet software downloading a couple of bits and was on the chat rooms talking to some guys. We were talking about ISP's, download speeds stuff like that. One guy said he was with virgin (just like me) on their 20 mb tariff (just like me) and managed to get 50 mbps. I asked him to send me a screenshot of his software which he did, and I said straight away as it was only the start of the download it could be just one cached onto his PC.

I showed him the way to gamefiles.virginmedia.com and asked him to send me one there. The one he sent me is 15% the way through so, as far as I am aware, can not be cached?

How can this be possible, he has DOCSIS 2, and Ambit 256 modem. I thought maybe the picture had been edited but can't see any signs of it?

Anyone else not able to see the picture clearly enough to make anything even remotely out? Even after clicking on it?

Its probably doctored, there's no way you can get 50meg on the VM network without a new Modem

Re: I have 50Mb.. does anyone else?

Thread merged with the previous 50Mb claim

---------- Post added at 14:42 ---------- Previous post was at 14:40 ----------

My view is that unless the OP is the one getting the 50Mb and he's willing to back it up with his modem config pages then it's normall fake...

Also aren't the people on the 50Mb trail told not to publish details as part of the trail???

Re: I have 50Mb.. does anyone else?

They do not even come through to Tech Support and are sworn to secrecy.

They have their own support framework and would be kicked off the trial if they published any details.
