Like you I'm still waiting in my little corner of the Baguley Server area. I'm not sure whether the upgrade will arrive on a shaft of sunlight, shinning down and bringing happiness, or as a Monty Python foot descending to squash my high hopes.

I am loosing my connection several times a day at the moment and wish the upgrade would be done so that I can see if my connection stabilises or whether I need to take any action with VM.

Having seen some posts over the last 24 hours, for anyone wanting to know which server they are on there is a quick check on the forum. Just click the button marked 'Connection' at the top of the page. (don't forget to XXX your customer number if you need post it)

ADD.... Hi obxdenied to the forum. Double check your server just to be sure that you are on the Manchester server and if switching off your modem doesn't do the trick post back on this thread.

Just checked my connection it says.

cpc2-with1-0-0-custxxx.bagu.cable.ntl.com

Does that mean im in the baguley area then lol?

My modem started saying this in the event log today as well, wondered what it was?

The s/w filename specified in the config file is the same as ...
A software upgrade filename was specified in the config file.

Yup you're one of us. Welcome to the Baguley Server Club. On a serious note, the upgrade shouldn't be far off now so just keep checking this thread and you should be seeing the celebration fireworks in the near future......I hope.

Oh..and XXX out your 3 figure customer number ( betweencust & .bagu)just to be on the safe side.

I tried Dan Elwell's speed test. Results are loads better but ping seems a little up and down. I'll wait until tomorrow morning and see if it's better with a little less traffic.

Sorry about that. I assumed that my quote of you post would update content when you amended your post. A blond moment or maybe a senior one?

Thanks, Spleeny, you're a pal. Guess that answers my question then, and it is nice to be proven wrong in this instance. Looks like Baguley is getting the upgrade. Now I just need it to work its way to M14 (Fallowfield/Withington way)

Thats OK dude. Just trying to instill some hope to all 4Mb, and definitely not start a flame war... besides, I've seen what your species is capable of on a Saturday night!

Looking at the list, theres so few areas left incomplete that everyone must be done by August I'd guess.

Re: Virgin 4Mb to upgrade to 10Mb February - Summer

can you please refer to my last few posts. and just to let you know, nearly everybody should now have been upgraded -- and VM don't intend on updating that page with the ETA 24/7.
