Re: Virgin 4Mb to upgrade to 10Mb February - Summer
Hmm - Does anyone know when the Bury / Radcliffe part of Manchester is being upgraded?
I know it says July on the VM chart - but if people in Bolton and Stockport have been done, surley Bury and Radcliffe are close?

If you're still awaiting your upgrade, then please reboot your cable modem. This should fix the problem, alternatively dial 151.

Re: Virgin 4Mb to upgrade to 10Mb February - Summer
Yes, after rebooting my Modem (thanks eth01), I just noticed I am getting 10MB (even though my area says TBC). Birds are singing, the sun is shining, everything is good in life now that I'm getting 10MB (and the full 10MB too).
Apologies to the Gods of broadband for thinking that Grimsby would be last to be upgraded. Now all we need is sunshine year round and I'll be happy.

Re: Virgin 4Mb to upgrade to 10Mb February - Summer
Ok i live in Stockport (SK3)..ive looked at the modem operations config,,which says this..
Network Access : Allowed
Maximum Downstream Data Rate : 10240000
Maximum Upstream Data Rate : 512000
Maximum Upstream Channel Burst : 1600
Maximum Number of CPEs : 1
Modem Capability : Concatenation Enabled, Fragametation Enabled, PHS Disabled
rebooted modem, on average was a getting around 4MB, this operations log was from last might..on some sites upload for me was average 380kb, now its just to around 490kb..but the download speed is staying in the region of 4MB...

Welcome to Cable Forum.
Sometimes i think you have to wait for it to settle down for a day or two but someone might be able to help you more.

You should be going a lot faster than that. Everyone else seems to be reporting 9MB plus.

Aye, but I can dream. And when we get our 2 day's worth of sunshine a year, even Grimsby seems like a nice place to be... And, love the lyrics of that song Kevin T - who knew there was a song about Grimsby
