Downgraded?
I have had VM's 4Mb service for just over a year, no problems, STM has been in action a few times for me, but about it.
Had their L TV package installed here yesterday, all was well.
I log on today, my speed has been cut to 2Mb, and that is not related to STM as far as I can tell. (Latest time STM would be in action is 21:00 plus 5 hours, surely?)
Anybody have any ideas?
Thought I would have a quick look around before phoning up VM Customer Services, and be redirected through tons of people on the phone.
Already power cycled through the modem and router.

Re: Downgraded?
What's the details shown on your "operational config" page on the modem ( http://192.168.100.1 ) this will at least confirm if you are on 2Mb or not...
If it is then they've probably accidently altered your speed when they've put you on the TV package...

Re: Downgraded?
Yep, they're 2Mb rates all right, have a moan at CS and I'm sure that they'll put it right (that is after they stop blaming the modem, your router and then your PC )

Call them and they will send a hit to provision your account correctly, and they will blame the DTV people as they always do this.

Re: Downgraded?
That’s very strange, we got downgraded last week too.
We were on 20mbit, I noticed the net was going very slow so I checked the modems config page and we had the config for 10mbit.
Anyway we phoned customer support and they offered us 20mbit for £29 a month... not bad as we were paying £37 before.

I dont see how TSC can sort this out as customer care/relations and sales normally do downgrades and upgrades well not really sales as they only deal with customer adding BB/TV and phone

Re: Downgraded?
Phoned them up, they told me I need to pay £10 extra for 4mb broadband. I was told on the phone a week ago I could have their L TV package and L broadband package for £26 a month.
Now they say my account shows 2mb (M Broadband package) and L TV Package.
I was livid coming off the phone, I wouldn't have subscribed to their TV package in the first place if I knew I was going to have to pay more.
Anybody got a suggestion? Sort of finding Mr Branson myself and strangling him.

What we do is get transfer calls were the customer is either offline or receiving slower speeds than they are paying for after an upgrade by another department, we check their package and if incorrect we re provision the account by sending signals to the modem.

Re: Downgraded?
Yeah, this is just stupid:
(Using C.F's own speed test, reports 30Mbps+ so clearly that speed test doesn't work for me)
I pay for 4mb, and get less than 0.5.
Gotta love Virgin Media.

Re: Downgraded?
Speedtest.net is not at all accurate a lot of the time I don’t think.
It tells me I get less than 2mbit down yet if I download Ubuntu or something from a fast mirror ill get the full 20mbit easy.

Your ping is massive demonicdioxide even with virgins horrible routing to America I don’t get pings like that on American servers, you sure your not uploading when doing that speed test?
