Robbie Keane heads to Anfield in £20m deal
According to The daily mail.......
Quote:
Robbie Keane is due to arrive at Liverpool early next week to undergo a medical and complete his £18million move from Tottenham.

If it's true, this will really give Levy the right hump.

Re: Close Season Transfer Rumour Mill
Bit worrying as we are set to lose our top 2 strikers 3 weeks from the start of the new season.
On the brightside, it looks like we could be signing Villa.

Re: Close Season Transfer Rumour Mill
They said the last time we signed Rebrov, Klinsmann, Berbatov...
I'm keeping an open mind.

Keane deal done, good bit of business by the scousers, I'd expect the transfer merry go round to really get going now

Really? I would say that's a good bit of business by Spurs for £20million.

Re: Close Season Transfer Rumour Mill
Its a return of £13m, so its a good deal for us. Still would like to keep him though.
Liverpool have paid about the right price. Buying big-name foreign talent from outside the Premiership is always a gamble whether they'll fit or not, but they've got themselves a very decent Premier-league ready striker.

Re: Close Season Transfer Rumour Mill
I'm not saying Keane's a bad player but i don't see how signing him is going to help Liverpool progress, i cant see any of the other top 3 teams wanting to sign Keane if they needed that type of player. I don't think he's worth that much money but nearly all players go for more then they should these days so it's no suprise. I still think if Torres get's injured Liverpool will struggle to get goals. Ofcourse i may be proven wrong and he will get 30 goals this season but i see him going the same way as Crouch.
Intresting to see how Levy drops the case against Liverpool tapping up after they pay him off.

Re: Close Season Transfer Rumour Mill
Benitez was always intent on bolstering the Liverpool squad with a player from the British Isles this summer but when you look at some of the other signings the worrying trend continues: more of the same young foreigners to stick in the reserves for a few seasons and invariably get rid of when they get found out. Surely there must be some decent young British players coming through the academies and youth systems of clubs in general to stop this from happening, if not, something has to be done asap.

The public apology and donation to the Tottenham Hotspur Fondation is "paying him off"?

Tottenham will splash out £36m to bring Blackburn's David Bentley and Andrei Arshavin from Zenit St Petersburg to White Hart Lane. (Various)

Re: Close Season Transfer Rumour Mill
Spurs fans aren't too pleased with that. They think Arshavin is a poor, unproven replacement and people have even gone cold on Bentley now.
