Hello Kevin T ,Thanks for the reply.I have had a quick look in here On my way to make a cuppa t (In the middle of cutting the grass) Will it be any good if later I can show you exactly what i have got set up.

OK Here We Go.!!I aologise for this being so long winded
EQUIPMENT.
Panasonic TV
2 Scart sockets AV1 and AV 2
2 phono jacks 1 red 1 white not labelled
RF Input socket.
Virgin Media Set top Box.
TV scart to
TV AV 2
cable to Cable Input.
TV RF to Antenna in on DVDR.
Goodmans GHD8015F2 ( Twin Freeview Tuners )
Antenna 2 out to RF in (TV)
Antenna 2 IN Not to be used
Antenna ! out Not to be used permanent connection across from Antenna 2 IN
RS232 socket Empty
VCR Scart to VCR (DVDR)
TV Scart to AV 1 (TV)
phono jacks Red =right,White =left Yellow=CVBS
Antenna 1 from STB
The recording and playing back of freeview channels is ok

So you're saying with that setup, you're only getting the Freeview signal through both AV1 & AV2 inputs on the TV?
Are you sure you're switching the TV to the AV2 input to watch VM channels? From your description you should be seeing the PACE STB output on AV2...
Out of interest, what is the Goodmans' VCR SCART connected to?

the scart lead in the goodmans is connected to a scart socket on
the set top box labelled vcr

Well, as people have already established that the Goodmans can't record from the PACE box, remove that cable completely.
Turn off the Goodmans, set your TV to the AV2 input & see if you can receive the cable channels.
