Have you checked in your modem config to check that your modem has the 10Mb/s file loaded.. Also, what modem model do you have?

Is this really going to be completed by the end of August/September? Wouldn't be suprised if it rolls into 2009.

Nothing announced yet. Baguley, Manchester and Liverpool are still showing TBC.

Re: Virgin 4Mb to upgrade to 10Mb February - Summer
The only encouraging thing I can point to is, all but one area with june set as the upgrade period have been upgraded, therefore the areas with TBC written aside them will certainly get a july/august period written by its side.
Hopefully I'm right .

Re: Virgin 4Mb to upgrade to 10Mb February - Summer
I am in Peterborough - done many test throught the day/night- varying from 4.1-4.9.
Presumably I need to call technical support?, although I know I have the correct modem for 10meg etc.

It is a free call from Virgin landline on 151 so give them a call.

Being in SE9 I think I am in the same area as you. Using my usual WirelessG connection I am getting at best 5+Mb Download but, when connected with wire, tests (speedtest.net & cableforum) show 9+Mb. Perhaps it's time for a wireless upgrade.
Can anyone say that the 'N' standard products are worth buying yet?

802.11g should easily manage 10mb - maybe check you haven't got it running in 802.11b mode?

No definitely Wireless G Only. For what it is worth, when doing the wired test I connected via the Wireless Router's ports rather than directly to the cable modem. I have just run a couple of CableForum speedtests now and got 4.8ish Mb results (wireless).

How far are you sitting from the router? Have you tried a speedtest by the router? Have you tried changing the channel on the wireless, this can sometimes sort out speed problems.
