Mistaken 'queue-jumper' killed.

A frail man suffering from myalgic encephalopathy (ME) died after being punched in a supermarket by a stranger who had mistakenly identified him as a queue-jumper.

Lamping someone as frail as this for something as ridiculous as pushing in.
What a sorry tale.

I seen that in the paper today and I am fuming I mean what is the country coming to a simple “excuse me� from the lady would have been more than enough and not to mention he also hit the wrong guy

A 37 year old bloke has stormed in and clattered a 9st, visibly frail 57 year old. I wonder what the outcome would have been if Kevin Tripp had been a 16 stone walking muscle?
I mean, the woman who rang her bloke must have known what he would do, why else did she ring him? It just beggars belief that someone would be so damned vicious to a) call someone to come and sort out a silly case of barging in (knowing what would happen) and b) smack someone for it.

Its a classic case of people not thinking before their actions. It is so sad. You have a dead man and a guy who is now facing a murder charge (which no doubt will affect his family too). I dont understand why the woman is being charged with murder too though.

I can understand why someone would go after a teenager chav for hassling his missus (Im not saying its ok to do that ), but i just cant understand how you can mistake a 59 year old guy whos frail, by all accounts, for a 19ish year old lout.

Makes you wonder what sort of people could do this...... It's the sort of thing which happens in gang warfare when someone calls for backup in order to settle a score.... Apparently their poor young daughter was sobbing in court. Pity they didn't give her welfare more thought than they gave their alleged attack.

That'll depend on what role she might have played in events which will all become clearer in time.

That'll depend on what role she might have played in events which will all become clearer in time.

From the stroy I read in yesterdays paper I thought the 'chav' had hassled the missus in the carpark. I have to agree, calling husband round to sort out a queue jumper _ if thats what it was - is OTT.

She's probably been put down as the person who orchestrated it, from calling her partner and possibly trying to dispose of evidence.

And its good to see people released early from prison are being useful members of society.

Yesterday, it emerged suspect Virasami was wearing an electronic tag after being released from prison. He was also on bail for other offences.

it seems this was all a case of mistaken identity as the woman had been hassled by some yob in the car park who was about 17, she called her husband or partner and then said that's the man when she pointed him out in the store. Standing just behind him was Kevin Tripp, although the yob was meant to be yelling abusive stuff inside the store so I would have thought it was obvious who she was talking about.

Well it's an easy mistake to make isn't it a 17 year old and a 57 year old it's a mistake any knuckle dragger could make.

I might just be a touch cynical but my gut instinct is telling me payment may not have been involved in the items they were taking from the shop.

I`ve just read this link in the post and i think it`s time we had some changes in the judicial system in this country once and for all.
Everyday we see new news that somebody has been killed or stabbed or another child has been abducted and murdered.
What the hell do we have to do to stop the decline in England?
Why are the courts not giving out sentances in proportion to the crime committed?
Does anyone watch Roadwars or Streetwars and gasp at the punishment dished out for the people stealing cars and running from the police?
How about tougher sentances? I`m lost for words...........

They do.
Unfortunately the sentence given doesn't reflect in any way the sentence served.
I know of examples where people given 9 months are out in less than 3.

I suppose it depends if you want prison to punish or rehabilitate people.
To punish then they should be in for the sentence.
To rehabilitate they should be in for long as it takes to make them safe to life along side normal people, sadly this is normally longer than option A
