Smile Just got a good deal

Just phoned up Virgin to enquire about the special offer they have at the moment. Triple X for £49 for 6 months.
Anyway got transferred back and forth and somehow ended up at the retain (?) dept.
I've still got my 2mb BB which she says is being increased to 5mb by the end of June. Still got XL TV, and have now got XL phone that has unlimited calls to 01 and 02 numbers for £34.95 which includes an online billing discount.
I was paying £40.50 this morning.
So very pleased at the moment.

Hold onto that thought and hope she's not as bad with numbers as she sounds.
As far as I know, 5mb has never been mentioned??

Re: Just got a good deal

That's what she told me in a whisper.
Said it's not being announced in case there are any hiccups.
So it's fingers crossed.
Even if it doesn't, I'm getting free calls for a fiver less. Calls cost up to a tenner a month, so I'll be saving up to £15.

Re: Just got a good deal

I'm sorry that I sound skeptical, but would they upgrade 2 to 5 whilst 4 is still being upgraded to 10?

What was your deal at first? Hope that one is better for you.

Er, yes. I know.
And I said glad you got a good deal? Wasn't trying to be clever.

Sorry, I wasn't being rude. Should have put a wink in or something.
I hope you haven't got the hump with me?

LOL.
Not in the slightest.
I wasn't being intentionally rude either.

Here, have a hug to go with the shrug.

It would be nice if I arm wrong, but if this upgrade was due to finish at the end of june, it would have started in about March/April, so someone would have posted something here.

VM (and before them, NTL) never upgrade the whole country at once. They upgrade area by area, to minimise the load on both the network, and tech support (at least some of the people in each area will have problems).

*grins* feel much better now, can get back to work in a happier frame of mind.
I do hate upsetting people, especially when it's unintentional. *hugs back*

Haighy is an unknown quantity at this point
Smile Re: Just got a good deal

I rang Virgin to see if I could get a deal on bundling my 20 meg broadband and my talk anytime. I was paying 37 quid and about 18 .... so a 55 quid bill. Got put through to retentions after mentioning the Sky deal and BT's, just in passing you understand, never had any problems with either of my services since NTL days. Nice man added Talk International to the other 2, called them a bundle and I now pay 42 quid. Well worth a ring if you have more than 1 service.

Re: Just got a good deal

Great news!
I was thinking of upgrading to 4mb BB, as some of you were saying it was doubtful that the 2mb was being upgraded as I was told.
I'm going to wait until I get my next bill though, just to be sure that I got the deal I was expecting.
I was browsing the VM site this morning, and it looks like it will cost another £7. Is that right?
If that's the case, I will only be paying £1 more than I was before I got my new deal.
