On Demmnad not working now for 4 months

Well... My Virgin On Demnd had not been working for 4 months (has worked fine prior to this) They have tried to tell me that the signal isnt strong enough but i am less than 10 meters from the exchange box another told me that my signal was too strong. I'm up to 5 engineer visits and still no service.

I am having a new "pull through" on Monday the 21st and as a "Goodwill" gesture Virgin are giving me a V+ box alos being installed on Monday for free (makes me think that they have no idea how to solve my On Demand problem)

So I have registered in advance so i can draw on the Excellent knowledge on this Forum already supposing I may have problems with it.

Anyone else had the same problems?

Yes - but fault was found in their cabinet and fixed.

Have you tried to get it sorted via the virginmedia support newsgroups?
Might be worth a try.

return path must be down could be anything but a good service or network tech should be able to fix it or it could be a problem with your account.

I would go completely balistic if that were to happen to me.

But the thing is, you need to very calm and simply ask them what they will give you in compensation. They will always give you something. Don't be overwhelmed by their initial offer, sound suspicious and they more offer your more. And they should, they've messed up the service you'd paid for. Good luck.

Well i've had a problem with On Demmand , has never working since i had VM installed and I have been to it has never worked in the area ! When I phone up VM they tell me it working, its a fault and will be fixed by 31/12/07 , I think we are a little past that date now ! Have also been told there is no headend equipment in the area !

When I phoned to complain and ask for compensation I was told On Demmand is free for XL TV customers so i dont pay for it and I cant have any compensation !

That's rubbish. It's part of the XL service. Insist that they compensate you. But be polite.

I agree with higgs, it's part of the service and if they aren't offering it then they should compensate you for not having it.

Re: On Demmnad not working now for 4 months

I have similar problems going back several months some days at17:00 ish I lose BBC1, ITV1,Channel4, at best the Picture and sound breaks up, at worst the Channels go off air, and remains so for up to an hour. It has also started doing it at 20:00 ish and stays off for hours. and last night it went again at 23:25. this is after 4 new V+ boxes a new HDMI cable a new cable from the wall to the V+ box, several attempts to retune the system a "hot box" fitted to monitor whats going on and the Amplifier in the box at the end of the road being changed and adjusted to try and match best signal, Strange thing its only these three channels and it only does it for a while then stops for some weeks, I am getting to know a lot of Engineers, the Only positive thing to come from this is I no longer have to speak to the Overseas call centre, who have never been able to grasp the problem.
