Traffic management and Weird things

Just a quick question, does anyone know if VM are trialling different traffic shaping stuff ?. Reason i ask is for the 3rd night in a row my speed has dropped to 10mb solid, but i have not been traffic shaped no matter how much i have downloaded as i say just asking.

I am in a trial area. The trial thresholds are supposed to be...

During these times the following thresholds will be applied for upstream and downstream.

10am - 3pm Download
Size M: 900MB
Size L: 2400MB
Size XL: 6000MB

4pm - 9pm Download
Size M: 450MB
Size L:1200MB
Size XL: 3000MB

3pm - 8pm Upload
Size M: 200MB
Size L: 700MB
Size XL: 1400MB

My 10Mb (L) connection was throttled at 7pm after approx 800MB downloaded when the threshold was supposed to be 1200MB.
Download was reduced to approx 295KB/s

Maybe the trial has ended? (No notification) and we have reverted back to the old thresholds?

not here, Doofy, my 20Mb/s is working fine & downloading at 2400 KB/s

Strange i downloaded 2 dvd's from giganews this evening, and my 20 mb was rock soild at 10mb. Untill the last 800mb when it went back straight to 20mb, but did not drop past 10 meg at any point. Been like this for 3 days now. Connection is fine all day at 20mb but does drop to 10mb in the evening. Very strange IMO...

Sounds like either congestion or someone like an engineer dropped down the speed whilst they were working in the UBR.

It's been said though time and time again, if you wish to check if you are being STM'd then check the upload speed.

If your getting 10Mb your not been managed its congestion check the news groups or ring tsc after 1st june when its free on 151 from a virgin media phone line
