Re: V+ INstalled
Unfortunately, my ancient Yamaha amplifier does not take HDMI, but it does a good job with the digital optical. I see in another thread, higgsfield, that you have an Onkyo which you recommend. I am saving up! One day . . .

Re: V+ INstalled
Well the HDMI is certainly convenient - but the audio data is the same via optical. So whether it sounds good is up to the other features on the receiver (and your speakers!).

Re: V+ INstalled
I apologise to cable guy for being a bit sniffy with his txt spk, it just drives me insane! And thanks to him and everyone else for all your help.
I got a WiiFit game today - it damned nearly killed me just carrying it - and shopping -home! The thing weighed a ton, well, a lot. Goddammit, I've been injured and made unfit by simply carrying the damn thing!

It's some sort of fitness regime software for the Wii, even contains virtual scales, according to my Daughter anyway. She's been trying to buy it but it seems to be in short supply or at least, very popular.

Re: V+ INstalled
I phoned Virgin today and told them that I wanted to be sure the new V+ would be installed with HDMI cables, and he said he'd ensure the engineer brought them, but couldn't guarantee they'd install them. I was then ensured it was terribly easy to install them myself. A two minute job for me, I was told. Hmmm.
Sorry earlier about banging on about wiifit, it just chuckled me that it incapitated me, trying to drag it home along with shopping. I've been physically a wreck since then! Wrong thread though.

It is - as long as you follow all the instructions. There isn't much to do - but still some folks manage to struggle!!!

Re: V+ INstalled
Well it took about two hours, frankly, but the job was finallly done.
Won't it be lovely when programmes are actually shown in HD? If I'm still alive, especially.

Re: V+ INstalled
My Goodness, I'm really thrilled with this! V+ is fantastic. OK, it's limited and it annoys me those swines over on SKY get to see far more programmes in HD than I do, but I have some pride, that than pig Murdoch isn't getting too much of my money.
I loved watching the FA cup final in HD, and the programme about Russia, And I can't wait for tomorrow night's China programme at 9pm. Brilliant, BBC HD.
