Huh? I cant not go on teamspeak, its just there. Why cant they just switch off the mic when there dog is barking etc, they dont talk on it anyway, just breath heavily. Anyway, whats having a life got to do with their mics being on? Especially when they dont talk.

Just dont put your bluetooth headset on then. I understand were your comming from to a degree but you cant expect people to keep every sound in the backround silent. Dogs bark, Babies cry its just the way it is. If you dont like it just take out your headset like I do.

The sound comes through the TV. Why should I have to start doing stuff anyway when people aint even using their mics to talk but to either - sing/shout/scream/play music/swear/breath heavily/have it so the game sounds plays through their mic. And why should I have to sit their while the person baby is screaming but he is ignorant to the fact and just leaves the mic on regardless off him/her not talking.
Nearly every game I get this, Im sick of having to mute people. Surely if they are not talking they should be wise enough to turn it off. Is it just games or is it people in general who seem to not be able to respect other people.

I understand it may be polite for the other person to mute there mic but if they dont then you mute them. Maybe its children on the mic somtimes playing games ? maybe people forget to turn them off or they have them on. Either way if you dont want to hear it then you deal with it by muting etc etc you cant expect other people to do something because thats what you want.

Well you can expect them to. On COD4 its not hard to find out your mic is working. I dont expect to hear everything I hear on the mics as Im playing a game.

I understand shawty m8 but sometimes people simply dont notice. With everday sounds like the dog barking which they become used to. Also sometime you might not expect that your backround sound is being picked up. And yes some people are just rude. Only real way to deal with it is by doing something about it yourself
Also there is a setting so set if sound comming back from people comes through your headset or your speakers in the PS3 settings menu. If you set it to headset and then just dont use it then maybe you wont hear them ? worth a try

I do understand, its just the way I think about it. Why should I have to mute someone, when they are being rude, it annoys me so much, is it gamers or is it just people in general. Having being on gaming forums, I have got to so the majority, really give gamers a bad name.
Cheers, maybe Ill try that.

I think it may be alot of the younger gamers. I had the same problem on Xbox live when I first started to use it except they were some very rude people on there who would just rip you apart verbally for no reason at all.
I agree it does make the decent friendly gamers look bad but its just something we have to put up with for now I guess m8.

This is what I'm experiencing now. I loved the headset last week when I got the Xbox. My mate is on COD4 and we had a right laugh on a map chasing one another about. Now, I'm happy that I just realised I can mute certain people because the shinola the Americans come out with on the team matches is utterly embarrassing. I think the fact that they know they're broadcasting to a number of people gives them the chubby. And to bring this back on topic, they don't half give us Brits a hard time once they've had a half a shandy.

Re: COD4 and racism on live.
I had an excellent few hours last night on live playing COD4, I was playing free for all with five permanent players and the other three places were taken with people having one or two games. I was the only Brit in our group, the rest being Americans, but as all of us were over thirty it was very good humoured, we had a couple of "little boys" come in trying to ruin it but one of the older Americans always seemed to be the host, so after a brief warning, very brief, he used the kick option. This kept our group all together while being able to get rid of the little irritants, very amusing to. I would agree it does seem to be young American boys who are the worst at handing out abuse, Ill hasten to add generally, but once one of your group is host they can be gotten rid off.

A good option if its just you and a mate is to initiate a private chat between the pair of you, that way no one can hear you or butt in.

Re: COD4 and racism on live.
Yeah, it's not all bad is it. I've started just quitting if I don't like the vibe.
I was on late on Friday and there was me and another English lad chatting on free for all amongst several French. We ended up kinda teaming up shadowing each other. Had a right laugh.

I wouldn't say that, it's just the little kids who think its funny to say words like "gay" and "balls". You know? The immature lads. I'm sure you've heard them about.

Well, I'm only speaking from one week's experience (but a damn good chunk of gametime), but I've yet to hear any Brits lambasting Americans, or anyone else for that matter. All the Brits I've heard have been well mannered and mature - a little cliquey if anything, but I expect that.
Yeah, I've no doubt there are clowns, but they're seriously outweighed as far as I can see. You just don't hear Brits giving it the "YEE-HAH!!!!! YOU SUCK YOU PUNKBLEEPED BLEEPERBLEEPER!!!!!!" when they get a headshot.
