Smile Cant access on demand

HI there I live in BL2
for a few days now cant get on demand .I have rebooted my box several times and done the usual remedies etc.
I have access to all the on demand menus and have an IP address and return path I have checked this in services.
I phoned faults this morning to be told I wont be able to access the on demand programes until the 1st of june at 10pm due to my box being on the 413 or 403 network?not to sure what numbers he said but that was his reasoning as to why no on demand. He didnt know what the job entailed but thought it was a long time for a job to conclude .I am to ring again after the 1st of june if the services dont return.
I am onthe old starter package which gives uk gold and sky 1 etc this package was made to lure people away from freeview and all for £5.50 a month this included all on demand programming.which we didnt have to pay the extra £5 for (this is going upto £7.00 on June the 1st) I was wondering if anyone on here could enlighten me on why there wont be any on demand till the first of June(work being done etc) and what will they charge me for services after the first of June.
Sorry its long winded but find it hard to put down what I'm thinking.I rang customer services to be enlightened (India) but was told to ring in and change my package to large or extra large she hadnt got a clue about the starter package .

Re: Cant access on demand

In glasgow and having simmilar problem, try to play on demand and just get a blank screen, but if you fast forward through the program and play the last seconds so that it is playing when the feed stops and says that it hopes you enjoyed your programme you will be able to watch that programme if you go straight back into it.

Re: Cant access on demand

Sorry Fergie Boy

Your solution being a long winded way to watch an on demand program.fast forwarding etc; was worth a try.
It didnt work for me I'll await some future resolution if any on the first of June (that according to faults is the deemed date for my future on demand watching)if not I will goback to freeview pvr box again.
Thanks anyway Fergie Boyfor your input being the only member with any feedback for me.

Re: Cant access on demand

It stopped working for me as well, but if i keep trying I catch a programme. I get a little blip of sound and then nothing but blank screen, but if i repeatedly cancel and rechoose the same programme, it might play. Might be something to do with the speed that you manage to do this and catch the box sending the show stuff on screen signal as you are selecting play video.

Re: Cant access on demand

Hi there Fergie Boy I must admit I get a bit annoyed continually trying to make something work thats no intention of working but my problem is the same I get a bleep and then nothing but blank screen.
I must admit I did try your work around a few times but it became a chore
I have resigned myself to downloading from 4 on demand bbci etc when I have missed a program its the other programes on demand Like Cold Case I miss.
Anyway according to faults there should be away forward on the 1st of JUne at 10pm
I dont believe it some how and fear that I'm waiting in vain.Anyway thanks again Fergie Boy for your input heres hoping one day we will be triumphant. Its not a lot to ask is it.Good job my XL Broadband is working okay .! I hope I hav'nt spoken to soon "Ouch"

Re: Cant access on demand

Hi Fergie Boy
I would be interested to know what faults have told you, regarding your on demand problems.
Have they given any reason , is it a service fault in your area or is it just yourself with the problem
Thanks in advance for any input.
According to yesterdays service status all the north west area is having problems with VOD.
It is being investigated at the moment .

Re: Cant access on demand

Yeah back up and running,
was a little bit tempremental on Friday but seems ok now. Still getting that little blip just before the program plays which is slightly worrying.
Since they moved the faults to india they don't seem to know as much or they are just less confident in fobbing you off, but they said they were aware of the fault and it would be fixed by 10 pm thursday.

I think it must have been a problem intigrating the bbc iplayer access through the red button

Re: Cant access on demand

Had a lot of VOD problems the last 2 days for me. Menus being painfully slow to load and then when a programme is selected saying it is temporarily unavailable.

I still get the Blip Glad you are up and running again

Demented
have you tried rebooting your Stb recently.
I believe there was some kind of update for the v boxes this week which would probably need you to reboot(I know it happened to mine and took a while to go through the update after rebooting the box).
The menus have been a bit smoother since the update. like Fergie Boy said in the previous post it could be a problem of integration with the new BBCi channel which if you use the red button on BBC1 you can view the bbc on Demand from there.

Re: Cant access on demand

At the moment i can't get programme information and can't find out what programs are on next or at any time today. I just tried a V+ box reset, but it hasn't helped.

Re: Cant access on demand

Ah didn't know there was an update this last week, thanks. The one I had a few weeks ago made the v+ all speedy and responsive in the menus but the last few days it's been taking a long time (30-60 seconds) going from one layer of menu to the others. So if it fixes this then that'd be good.
