TV PIcture problem

I have a problem with channel 103 (ITV1) with my VM service. I have spoken to the people at VM many times about this and they tell me its my TV at fault but as the problem ONLY occurs with ITV1 I cant see how that can be so ?

The problem in question is the picture appears to be oversretched on the screen. Easiest way to explain without being able to show a picture is the example of breakfast TV (GMTV) -although this show is car crash TV (No matter how bad it is you still have to look ) it seves as a good example. At the bottom left of the screen is a clock in a box, this box has about 1cm of the left hand side off screen and when people are on screen to the left or right edge half of there body is missing.

Another example is text that extends across the full length of the screen is also cut off at the left and right.

I have asked a neighbour who is on Sky if I can look at there GMTV in the morning (explained why first of course) and low and behold the clock box is about an inch from the left hand edge with the studio in evidence before the edge of the screen cuts it off.

Yes I have tried 3 TV's connected to the box and all have the same cut off picture so I KNOW its not the TV at fault.

Anyone have any ideas please ? Its really annoying to try and watch ITV1 at the moment.

Re: TV PIcture problem

Have you got your STB set for the correct type of TV.

Set 16.9 for wide screen.

Set pan&scan or letterbox for Standard TV.

Done that. As I said this only happens on ITV1, all other channels are fine.

Re: TV PIcture problem

Sounds like some obscure fault with the STB.

Get engineer out.

I should imagine the first thing he will try will be changing the STB.

That should settle it one way or another.
