Sooner than I expect.

Is this upgrade being done house by house??
At the rate the "where's my upgrade" is being shown, there will be colonies of people living on the moon by the time it's done

I posted about this the other day. It seems I (and a few friends) have been put on 10mb. All our config files say 10mb, it's just that they're all getting 7mb speeds, and I'm getting 2/3mb speeds.
Restart your modem, see what happens.

Off you go and speak to who you like
Mine wasn't a winge, more a comment on the speed of the upgrades - the TBC numbers don't seem to be changing at all on the information page.

Some people just never know when to stop moaning.
As I have said before ITS FREE!! I am sure the engineers are working as fast as they can and coming up against some problems. Its done when its done!

Re: Virgin 4Mb to upgrade to 10Mb February - Summer
Being on a server suffering with over contention I would rather wait until Virgin have a hope of supplying 4MG rather than forcing them to prematurely boost us to 10MG and the contention issues becoming even worse.

I don't care when they do it as long as they *do* do it... and soon... or I'll be thinking more seriously about changing (usb dongle thingy modem? yes please.. I'll take two as I travel a fair bit!!)

I sympathise, believe me. Mine took a while to sort , after the upgrade happened in Stafford. Some of it down to Virgin, mostly down to my router not being good enough for the upgrade. If you are still using a 120 modem that can be part of your problem, far more likely the upgrade is not totally complete. It took a fortnight to settle down here. Even now I'm not totally sorted, I'm having problems (again ) accessing my FTP server files, and this time Abyssunderground has not been able to help, I do know it can work, for 10 days after replacing my router with a newer one,I had all the speed I should, and everything connected
Hopefully this too will pass. I still have the speed correct!
However frustrating waiting is,I still think Virgin and cable a better bet than ADSL. I hear much worse horror stories from freinds stuck with phone line connections via the BT network. They envy those able to choose cable.

You say you dont care when they do it but yet you said as long as they dont do it soon you will change - oh and those USB dongles cost about £2.00 per MB so good luck with that!

Wrong....... T-Mobile, 3 and Vodafone all are doing £15 a month price plans with a 3Gb/month 'Fair Use' limit. I use the T-Mobile one for accessing the net 'Out and About' - as i got a good deal a month or so ago that they included free connection to any of T-mobile's Wireless hotspots....handy if you use Starbuck's a lot!!!

http://online.vodafone.co.uk/dispatc...pageID=MB_0001
(PS - Sorry for being slightly OT - Just wanted to point out that 'Webcrawler' was wrong with their assumption about mobile BB)
On topic - The speed increase gets here when it gets here. It's for free......so next week or next month doesn't matter to me!!!
