I think it's more to do with whites making racist comments off the cuff, regardless of the other persons race....
......I'm sure that people of other races never ever make racist comments at the expense of white people

Actually, I agree. Prejudice should be stamped out wherever possible, and regardless of the reason (beyond practical reasons) it is bad.
The problem with any insults such as those mentioned above is context. As noted above. I am fat. My friends sometime use this (in conjunction with swear words) to refer to me. I don't mind, because I know they don't mean it in a bad way. If some person who I don't know (or know but don't like) refers to me in the same way, I get offended.

Re: COD4 and racism on live.
Weeeeeeeeell.... Sorry to dig up an old thread, but last night after dropping in on a Headquarters match I remembered reading this thread.
Anyway, I was spoken to and referred to as "Creamsicle" by two teams comprising of some very cool and down with it homies who referred to each other as "n______" and "Dawg". I'm not very good at the game, only a wee sergeant as yet, so I was eventually told to get my sorry white 'bottom' back to my momma.

This I agreed to do, but only after telling them that even though I respect Dre, Snoop, MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice etc, I much prefer home-grown UK talent such as Roots Manuva & John Barnes.

Generally I find this to be the Young Yankee Kiddies...
They are the worse, problem being when you "report" them nothing is done! :P

Know what you mean, but these guys weren't. They were having a good old laugh at me, but I wasn't offended. I found it mildly annoying coz I was clearly not welcome, but hey. No biggie, sho' 'nuff, G.

Not often I bother with other servers Teamspeak, I mostly find it to be young daft kids spewing forth all and any many of gibberish, and nothing to do with the game, a bit like our ( NTHW clan )Teamspeak, but without the fineness

Re: COD4 and racism on live.
NTHW has finesse on Teamspeak? I don't think you have been on the same channel as me then But this is about Xbox Live, where realistically so much of what goes on is unmoderated being setup by the individual users. Where there are no active regulators, chaos will develop. I've seen this issue with some PC servers that enable speech, or even just poor text messages typed in the game. It's why the more serious gamers all end up finding their won clans of likeminded people, so they can be in a pleasant environment.

Re: COD4 and racism on live.
This is why gaming in a clan is a good idea and playing on the clans server. Usually they are looked after well. There are always going to be the ones that abuse the power but genrally there decent people running some great servers

I find that they are the same as people who are not in clans just with an added bit at the begining of the name. Ive played on some games (not all on PS3) were the clans, and yes most of them are worse than the normal players.

I think that being in a gaming 'Clan' is a great way of being able to play games with people who are passionate about gaming, not taking themselves too seriously, who take the time to helping out new players and above all just having a good time - that's what I've found over the years being in the NTHW CLAN - cheers guy's.

Most clans Ive ever played in have been rude and always seem to stick by there players even when they are in the wrong. But thats my opinion anyway.

Re: COD4 and racism on live.
Off topic a bit, but why do people assume I want to hear your dog barking/music/baby crying/phone/party your throwing down your mic, turn it of for god sake, why should I have to mute at least 1 player every match.
