Moving From Virgin Media, Advice Needed
All this Phorm stuff is really sending my blood pressure through the roof. I've been a Birmingham Cable/Telewest/Virgin Media customer for years and it looks like the time has come to move.
Much as I loathe BT methinks this means I'll have to get a BT line. I really don't want to pay BT any more than I have to (professionally they've messed me around so many times the sight of a BT logo is enough to drive me to kill), my ex tells me she had her line transferred?
What else would I need to do and who could you folk recommend as a decent ISP with a helpdesk based in Britain? (You should hear what the BT engineers used to say about the overseas helpdesks!)
If I've posted this in the wrong place, apologies.

I suggest Plusnet, I'm on BT and am also extremely annoyed with this Phorm issue, will be going to Plusnet myself - I believe it is all on-shore as well.

Be* - www.bethere.co.uk
If you can get it, you can get speeds up to 24Mbps, Upload up to 2.5Mbps and free static IP addresses!
Or there are some cheaper options of course, like a 8meg package or another 24meg with a 1.5meg upload

Re: Moving From Virgin Media, Advice Needed
BT is rubbish, do not even go there. I would gladly sign up to Be* but I cant get it here in Wales.
DO NOT GO TO BT! (Since they are most likely going to use Phorm as well, there's no point in switching from Virgin to them for the same issue!)

Re: Moving From Virgin Media, Advice Needed
Considering that Plusnet have won 9 out of 11 awards for provider of the year with uswitch, they definitely seem one of the best to go for.
Plus, I don't believe their traffic shaping is actually worse. will be signing up with them tomorrow
