Broken Drivers Side Mirror
My drivers side mirror has snapped off my VW transporter van. The glass is intact and because the mirror is not cracked, and it cant be adjusted from inside the van, I am thinking of glueing it back on (the screw holes have broken)
Has anyone used No More nails, or can anyone recommend a very strong glue. It will; be to glue plastic onto plastic, and must be strong enough to withstand the resistance caused by driving. I sometimes take it on the motorway too.
Ta very much in advance.

Re: Broken Drivers Side Mirror
I would try a strong superglue, as it actually bonds the bits of plastic together (sometimes a little heat is given off by this). And it should withstand the wind resistance etc. Just be careful it doesn't need reinforcing with duct tape or something though too.
I've never used No More Nails so can't comment on that.

Re: Broken Drivers Side Mirror
Ive used no more nails to glue a mirror to a wall when i couldnt be bothered lining up the screws right and it hasnt fallen yet so must be good. But as its quite important that it doesnt fall off might be better using a specialist glue for plastics like this one.

probably a bit cheaper too as you only need a little bit

Re: Broken Drivers Side Mirror
Epoxy Resin might do the job. Needs to be mixed properly though.

Re: Broken Drivers Side Mirror
I've never had much success with No Nails and the like.
I'd recommend some industrial RTV silicone adheasive / sealant.
I have some Dow Corning 3145 and I'd guarantee that it would *never* let go!
"Non-corrosive. Adheres to metals, glass , ceramics, painted surfaces, and silicone rubber"

As long as you mix it well, it is really very strong.
I use it to repair a radio controlled 'flying wing'. Much of it is held together with Epoxy - in fact Id say the the bits held together with the glue are stronger than the rest of it. In a heavy 'landing', the glued bits are fine, and a new break appears elsewhere

Re: Broken Drivers Side Mirror
No more nails must be used with at least one surface porous or it wont work (just read the tube)
