I don't see any reason to leave it on, unless I'm downloading a torrent file overnight. Like everything else, when I've finished using it, I turn it off. Waste of electricity otherwise.

Re: How long should i leave PC on without a restart?

My work pc stays on 24/7 (is usually number-crunching), gets rebooted if necessary on patch Tuesday, but otherwise totally stable for the last 2 years.

You may need to reboot periodically if any buggy software has a particularly bad memory leak, but I don't think any recent OS has problem with being left on.
