Stabbed Boy (9 Years old) Protected His Mother
That right a nine-year-old boy slashed in the face as he tried to protect his mother.

Another shining example of how terrific most kids are...and I bet his mother is so proud of him. 
I see the thug tried the pathetic I'd been drinking excuse but the judge ignored that... good for him.

Deffo that young man deserves a medal. I know many an adult that would have not done that . That guy should have got more than 8 years

Not a good excuse. IMO. If you know you suffer from bouts of anger and violence while drinking, then the answer is simple: Don't drink.
The boy, however, deserves respect, and, hopefully, some sort of bravery award.
