slave router?

Is it possible to connect two routers with one set as a 'slave' unit? I am upgrading my router to use draft (n) for use between the desktop and laptop. However, I have a wireless print server but it's limited to run at 54Mb (g) whereas I want to run the network at faster rate. I was hoping that I could use the old router to server the print server by using a ethernet cable to bridge the two routers together. Is this feasible?

TIA

Re: slave router?

This sort of thing is possible if you have cable routers and possible on most adsl routers with a bit of playing.

Just setting up something similar though for different reasons.
Have a orange livebox on adsl that is wirelessly connected to a pc upstairs which uses ics to go to a linksys 11mbs (a) cable router. In fact I'm posting from the linksys now.

All of this is to see if I can get a wireless signal the 100yds to my local pub. I've tested it with a dlink adsl router and a 6db antenna and I can get the signal there its just a matter of playing now as the dlink refused to do the sharing.

All of this so I can check my email/surf from the pub as got unlimited mobile bb but no signal in the pub :-)

fyi if your doing this you will find it easier to get your head round if you change the lan ip on one router.

I have 192.168.1.1 on the main wireless and 192.168.100.1 for the new pub link.
