Hi all,
I just got Virgin Media (VM) at home since last monday...The worst decisition I have ever had. I had heard that Virgin had a crap customer service but IT IS TRUE!!!

The people from Virgin came and installed all the wiring and stuff but I told them that the main (desktop) computer was upstairs (previously connected with aol) and they said that since I have got a Wireless Router (Netgear DG834G v3, last firmware revision for the UK installed 1 hour ago) I will only need a wireless pen for my desktop, fair enough! My flat mate had one around, installed and ready to go (the wireless pen) and he has a MacBook. The thing is I set the Virgin modem up, registered and up and running with the ethernet connection but I try to connect the router with the Virgin modem (channel 1) and data is not coming through (wireless). Both computers detect the name of the red but no web page can be seen or data coming in. I called Virgin (25 p minute plus connection call) this morning, a lady from india (She said so, and she was not very happy with Virgin either) answered the phone and she said that she will not be able to help with technical stuff and that I should call a 0906 (1.50 per minute...Rip off) to get that information. So First of all I reset the router and install the last firmware for UK and then called them. I gay with no bloody idea of what I was talking about was following useless procedures. I got some information, the guy ask me to write it down:
DINAMIC IP
Host and Domain name: ntlworld.com
DNS domain
Primary DNS 62.253.162.237
Secondary 194.168.4.237
That was all, so I went to 192.168.0.1 and set up this details and the router said (Router status) that is disconnected and something like "lcp is allowed to come up" when I checked the router status...I called Netgear and they don't give any technical support unless I put some bucks on the table :-( Very nice of them. So here i am with no where to go...PLEASE I NEED SOME HELP, OTHERWISE I AM STUCK!!!!!!
