Switching from Cable to Sky - BT?
Hey everyone.
I have been with Virgin Media for around 15 months and I want to keep my Broadband and Phone but cancel the TV.
Do I have to get BT installed in order for me to have Sky HD installed?
Thanks.

No, I think the box can just be plugged into the virgin media landline as thats what happened with a friend of mine when they switched from VM to Sky for TV but kept the VM Phone and BB.

Hey,
No you do not need a BT line, your Sky box will work just fine with your current VM phone line.
My Sky box has only ever been connected to a cable phone line.

Thanks everyone.
I will keep the broadband and phone and get Sky put in. I take it my contract with Virgin won't matter as I am keeping 2 services?

I'll certainly second what these guys say. I work at a boarding school and some of our on-site staff use our phone system (PBX connected to a C&W hosted service on BT ISDN lines) and use Sky TV services without issue.

The guys are right, no need for BT line. Tell Sky you are thinking of changing from Virgin and they may give you some sweetners - I changed fro mVirgin to Sky TV, Talk and Broadband and got 3 months free sports!

We ordered SkyHD Thursday and yep, I checked it is fine. We got Sky World + HD with SkyHD (£99 box thanks to a friend share code).
Thanks everyone.
