Re: How can I?
I have the Linksys WRT54GS http://tinyurl.com/2tx9dm which is the speedboost version of this one on e-bay http://tinyurl.com/2v3j8c (Speedboost is only useful if you have other speedboost kit).

Re: How can I?
well get a wireless router, connect it to your modem, and pc by wire first to set it all up.
once set up, and fully wireless, disconnect the laptop and test the wireless functionality.
but depends on your house, e.g. size, type of house (new very old thick walls) for reception you may need to buy a boost kit.
I have a linksys WRT54G wirelss router

Yes. Connect the Virgin modem ethernet output to the internet connection on the wireless router, as ikthius suggests connect the laptop with a cable to the router (there are four inputs on the back of the router 1-4). If the laptop hasn't ever been on the Internet you'll need to run the Network Setup Wizard.
It might be worth having a look on www.linksys.com, there are a lot of tutorials there to help the first time user. Also there is a lot of good information here on this site http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/87/ Have a look at Articles - The Cable Forum Knowledgebase for a start.

Re: How can I?
Not really, just that, um, how can I put it? My default context is not your usual run-of-the-mill context, and thus, to me, playroom is a place of adult play
