Dumb question of the day - can you stop and start V+ recordings from the same place?

One of my passions is Baseball and I normally video the Channel 5 coverage late at night and then happily watch this over a few days an hour or so at a time.

Having just got my V+ installed (but not yet working) I had a question

If I record this on the V+ can I go back to the position I finished at the night before and resume watching or do I have to fast forward through everything I have already watched?

If you only watch part of the recording, after it has finished recording, you are usually asked if you want to watch from the point that you finished watching.

In other words if you watched 30 mins of a 60 mins recorded program, and go back in to watch it, the system remembers where you pressed stop watching (30 mins in ) and asks if you want to start from that point, or return to the beggining again.

OR, have I completely misunderstood your question?
