Monza is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: Rememberance Bank Holiday

In all honestly I agree with the statement about sentiments being in the right place, though I can see it as just another excuse for people to get absolutely smashed and have a lie in.

I'd much rather see a bank holiday for St Georges day for that kind of behaviour.

Re: Rememberance Bank Holiday

The trouble with a bank holiday for St George is that it wouldn't benefit everyone.

Better to keep the number of bank holidays as they are now.

Re: Rememberance Bank Holiday

I'm a ex-serviceman, I also know a few lads who have been killed in Iraqistan & I stand behind each & every one of them 100%.Our squaddies are doing what British servicemen have been doing for year, doing the best with what they have got professionally & honourably. That cannot be said for out politicians.
I for one would welcome a Remeberance day holiday, not only to allow us to remember our fallen but also to allow us to recover from remembering our fallen!!!

But aren't we already honouring our fallen? How will an extra day off work for some honour them any more?

The are a lot of re-unions that take place where people have to travel to get there & as well as that a lot of companies do not recognise the sacrifice our lads have made.It wont make the public honour the fallen any more but it may make them take notice.

See I disagree with the last line. The excellent service that gets broadcast each november always brings it home to me, the processions through our town to the local war memorial monument, the poppies on sale, I think it would be difficult for anyone to miss the significance.

Well I think that if Spike thinks it is a good idea and he is taking as someone that has been there and done that then it is good enough for me
