Re: Laptop wont connect to internet please help

What ISP are you using? What IP address is the laptop getting, is the laptop set to a manual IP address? Have you tried flushing the old wireless settings out and letting windows re-find the device, refind the wireless network and ask for it's network key again?

Re: Laptop wont connect to internet please help

Tiscali 8mb max. Tried manually and automatic but its on automatic at the moment ip when connected with ethernet is 192.168.1.104 and i have tried to flush settings out also. It sometimes says the usual finding network ,connecting, aquiring network address, then connected. But after that, it flicks and goes straight back to aquiring network address.
Thanks for the reply's .Luke.

Re: Laptop wont connect to internet please help

At Sky when it goes in a loop either the network key has gone wrong or something is up with the config, have you tried temporarily removing all ecnryption from the router and seeing if you can connect? If you can connect try going into the router setup and change the SSID slightly so that you have to re-submit the network key.
Also I would try removing the wireless device from your device manager list, reboot and let windows rebuild it, if it's a USB device just unplug it, leave it a minute and plug it back into the PC in a different USB port.
Also I would look at your Internet Protocol TCP/IP settings and make sure everthing is being obtained automatically.
