I've just got an IPod today (woohoo) - well the boyf did but I'm the one lumbered with setting it up and stuff.
So far I've decided to dump the MP3s that I created before (well I deleted them by accident but I'm sticking to my other story!!) and I'm reimporting them at a better quality.
I'm doing it with Itunes and I've selected MP3 at 256kbps. I've stuck about 20 albums on so far and it's pretty painless the data for the track listing is found o.k. but the artwork isn't. not surprising as much of the stuff is 1990's club music and the like so not your run of the mill. With most of them I've scanned in the artwork myself with Ifanview and then put them in myself but is there an easier way?
I've come across a bit of software called "fetch art" but it's mac only.
Is there anything else about like it?
Also I've set the library on Itunes to a directory on my Laptop (that's where I'm working at the moment) but ultimately I'd like it to be on the server so both PC's can access it. Is it as simple as moving the directory onto the server and then setting the correct directory in both Itune installations?
Oh and one last thing. Is it possible to work two PC's to import the CD's (he's got about 1000) and then merge the librarys? That way I can cut the time in two.
