Duplicate emails

Hi

Since a few days ago im not receiving emails that i know i should be and im getting masses of duplicate emails of the last recent ones that i had received ok.

I deleted pop3uidl.dbx after following instructions from this site http://email.about.com/od/stepbystep...duplicates.htm but its still happening.

Im receiving over 300 emails sometimes and its tiresome deleting them while trying to check just incase new ones may come through.

The type of error it shows is:

Message number 29 could not be retrieved. Account: 'blueyonder', Server: 'pop3.blueyonder.co.uk', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800420CD

Any suggestions on what i can try will be helpful thanks.

Note: i have a blueyonder.co.uk address.

Re: Duplicate emails

Have you looked at your e mails on the web mail - you might be able to see what is causing it from there.

I once had a problem e mail; if I remember it had a particularly large attachment and every time I tried to download e mails to Outlook, the download failed due to this e mail. Having deleted it on webmail, everything was OK.

Re: Duplicate emails

Have you tried to login to webmail (https://webmail.blueyonder.co.uk/) to see if they are shown on the server? There were e-mail issues for BY customers at the beginning of the week...

EDIT: Beaten to it!!

Re: Duplicate emails

progers and cybernetic_tiger thanks i logged into Webmail for the first time in probably 2 years, pretty much forgot about it and was able to reach my emails there, took a while to go through them and delete, almost 360 emails.

Since logging out and opening up Outlook Express, no more duplicate emails.

If it happens to me again il now know what to do.

Thanks for the help guys, much appreciated.
