Start Menu IE Icon

Can anyone assist in helping me to restore my IE icon in the start menu to the correct icon. See the attachment for what I mean.

All this happened after IE7 was uninstalled and I cannot get it back to what it should be for IE6, I cannot even reinstall IE6 as it says a newer version of IE is installed when it isn't.

Please can someone assist please, by the way this is for work and we cannot use IE7 as some of our systems don't work with IE7 so we have to use IE6 at the minute.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Start Menu IE Icon

TweakUI from the XP Powertoys has the ability to rebuild the icons.

Re: Start Menu IE Icon

Try to right click the icon, select properties, and then "Change Icon" and change it back to the one you want.

Re: Start Menu IE Icon

Just tried TweakUI and that hasn't worked.

When you right click on it you only get the Properties for Internet Explorer i.e. change homepage, proxy etc.

I cannot find an answer to this except from rebuild the whole system, anyone any other ideas?

Re: Start Menu IE Icon

Try going to C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer and seeing if the icon is there.
If it is, try right clicking that and see if you can change it.

Re: Start Menu IE Icon

The icon is fine on the desktop and also in the start menu > all programs, just at the top of the Start Menu where the icon for email is as well which is why its puzzle me.
