Re: Alonso has left Mclaren
Excellent news, now maybe Lewis can get a team mate that does not try and push him out of the way and make a complete tit of themelves.
I cannot remember another driver spitting his dummy as far as Alonso did when the new boy proved to be better.
Don't let the door hit you on the way out

Re: Alonso has left Mclaren
This was inevitable really and has been brewing for months. At least he has left saying kind words about the team which is a good thing and a first for a few months. The question is though can lewis, pedro and whoever else develop the 08 car to be competitive and how much will the fia pull apart there car

I'll miss him...............................
But if I get the sights adjusted, I won't miss him next time

Re: Alonso has left Mclaren
So do we think he is going to Renault? Or somewhere else maybe?

Re: Alonso has left Mclaren
from what i've heard he's got a contract with Ferrari for 09 and so only wants a one year deal. Renault will take him back but not for 1 year only. He's also talking to RBR who are about the only team that will give him a one year deal

Re: Alonso has left Mclaren
And apparently Rosberg or Kovalainen are possibles to replace Alonso - although part of me would like to see another British driver, then we could have an all-British team.

Re: Alonso has left Mclaren
I don't think Rosberg will go there as it will be similar to Alonso. The team is built up around Hamilton and Rosberg can only lose if he goes there and gets beaten. His Dad won't let that happen so he prob won't go there.
McLaren have quite a few Spanish sponsors so not sure what influence they will have with driver choice.
Would like to see Kovvalienen ( if I can spell it) there
