Connection dropping with Netgear WPN824

Hi,

I am experincing a strange problem with my WPNb824 v1 router. I am so say on 20mg BB (although I never get anywhere near this) and I have been testing out the download speeds on my connection. I have been trying to download 3 files from http://gamefiles.virginmedia.com/ but whenever the accumalative download speed gets to around 1.2 mbps my internet connection drops out forcing me to restart the router.

I read some where that the router can handle upto 47mbs so I don't think it's the router. But I don't know what else it could be?

I'm running:

winxp sp2
wifi pci card netgear wg311t
netgear wpn824v1 router
ntl 250 modem

all have the latest drivers.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Well i have this router and havent had a problem with it dropping the connection before but incase you dont know i must warn you that i have never had the wireless internet speed reach faster than 15Mbps. I always plug in to ethernet when i want to obtain my full 20meg speeds!

Re: Connection dropping with Netgear WPN824

looks like it just wireless, as i just tried using ethernet and I was downloading at 1.7mbps which isn't to bad. So my wireless can't handle such high speed?

Should that be the case?
