I appreciate everyones help and all of the advice given has been very useful. Ill get onto Belkin and hopefully i can get this issue sorted

you could report it as faulty and request a replacement/repair. That leaves you without a router though

I suppose the only other thing you can do is buy a replacement and flog that one on ebay when it comes back "repaired" assuming Belkin admit there's a problem with it.
