Unhappy Re: Onecare compatible with Vista? Help?

Found this info :- http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsO...83525&SiteID=2

The annoying thing now is that if I run the cleanup tool Vista pops up with the message saying only Administrators can run this programme which my account is on the PC. I'm also getting problems running windows media centre/windows Media player through the xbox360 as an extender because I believe of 'firewall' settings although everything is set correctly in windows firewall/WMP and WMC. I think that the Onecare programme is still causing problems (maybe within the registry) although I have uninstalled the programme.

Loosing the will to live.

Cheers, got the cleanup to run. Still having problems running media extender. The PC shows an alert saying that there is an extender on my network but when I run the set up WMC says it cannot find the extender.

Media Extender Players are enabled in Windows Firewall, no other firewalls except the router are on. At a loss to know what the problem is.

have you get the 360 looking for the mediacenter pc?

I did get it working on my 360 once before but since I use it on my pc monitor it was a bit pointless.. afraid I can't remember what I did to get it going

Re: Onecare compatible with Vista? Help?

Went to the media blade on the xbox360, ran WMC which gives the eight digit key number to put into the PC's WMC set up. When I run this the PC WMC says cannot find extender !!! - even though on start up of the PC if the xbox360 is switched on it reports windows media extender found, do you want to install, I select yes, go through the process, then WMC says it cannot find the extender. Just going around in circles with this problem.
