Laptop Memory DDR or DDR2?

I just redid the O/S on a Medion MIM2120 Notebook and noticed it only had 256Mb RAM installed - pulled the RAM out to see what it is and it is

Hynix 256Mb PC2 3200 (HYMP532S64P6-E3 AA)

I don't work with Notebooks on a day to day basis, this is the first I have opened in years, PC2 is normally DDR2, but I have never seen DDR2@PC3200, is this specific to SODIMM or does SODIMM have it's own naming structure? Is PC2 DDR or DDR2. I can find PC3200 but not PC2 3200.

Anyone got one of these Medion Notebooks or is up on SODIMM?

Yeah, it said 3200.

It looks like that but 256Mb you can see it says PC2 3200 333. Odd.

Ignore my blurry pic - Chickens is better.

Code matches, that is the exact stuff.

The Crucial site says it's DDR2 so I will go with that. Dabs have the Crucial, they also have delivery charges. Never let me down Crucial though.

Play have KingstonValue for £9.99 and £16.99 - 512Mb and 1Gb PC2 4300 with free delivery. Never bought Kingston but they have a good reputation, seems like too good of a bargain to pass up on.

Re: Laptop Memory DDR or DDR2?

Kingston is the best you can get, It does cost more but it is worth it.

Re: Laptop Memory DDR or DDR2?

Only problem with getting the Kingston is Play use Royal Mail, who knows when it will arrive if they strike again next week.

Crucial are offering FREE UPS delivery for the duration of the strikes if anyone is interested.
