				Home Network - Not found!

I have a Belkin Wireless-N router that works great.
My OS is Windows XP - Home addition Service Pack 2.

I've ran the Wireless Network Setup Wizard several times on the two computers I am networking. I used a USB drive and have seemingly set up the network correctly(according to the prompts via the Wizard).

I cannot find my home network anywhere! Not in Network Connections, not in My Network Places.

Suggestions?

			hi
I'm not really savvy regarding wireless, but have you tried setting it up wired, first?

most routers have to be first set up via a wired connection which will enable you to turn on wireless.

Also to talk to the router you need to go via it http address possibly http://192.168.1.1

It would require a LOT of wiring as the two computers are in different rooms and the modem+wireless router is in another room.

I can access the internet fine. On both computers. I'm trying to set up a VPN (Virtual Private Network), I think. One of the computers is hooked up to a printer that I would like to access from the other computer.

 Yes for the shared files/folders.

I believe they are set to the MSHOME default name, yes. I just cant find one computer from the other and vice versa.

 That's a common cause.. I'd recommend you double-check this.
windows key/break to open system properties, check under 'computer name' tab.

If you do start/run/cmd and ipconfig on each box do they show the same IP group and default gateway?

 Double checked, Workgroup: MSHOME, confirmed.

The Default Gateways are the same, BUT the IP addresses are Different!!! Now what?

I GOT IT GUYS! Thanks!

Major Firewall issue. My Widows firewall were down but my Norton firewalls were blocking the IPs of each computer. I have configured it and now can access each computer over my VPN.

Thanks again,
Joe Tall

Joe what I ment when I said about trying a wired set up first, what I meat was plug a computer directly to the router (some have the cable supplied) and set up the wireless part.

You don't need to spend out on wire for the whole house.
