Red face Help required on Handheld PDA's

Due to Part P of the electrical regulations I have to issue certificates for all installations, to date I have been doing this manually with a draft cert done by hand then typing it all in on my PC whenever I get the time, however, the software I use now offer a PDA input, then just download to my PC and Hey Presto hopefully.
There are some handheld PDA's mentioned on this site who supply the software that I use.

I suppose my question is, "Am I limited to the PDA's mentioned on the website" ? or has anyone got any recommendations.........Oh and in case you haven't guessed, I have never owned a PDA before, so any help would be appreciated.

Re: Help required on Handheld PDA's

My only experience of PDAs is my Vario 2 on Tmobile - awesome bit of kit as for most of my work it's like having my computer in my pocket. Runs Windows Mobile 5 (hoping to get a free upgrade to Mobile 6 soon) and makes life a lot easier.

Re: Help required on Handheld PDA's

As long as the PDA runs any of the operating systems listed:
Quote:
Microsoft Windows Mobile 2002 later

Microsoft Pocket PC 2002 or later

Windows Mobile 5.0 (inc phone editions)
Windows CE.Net 4.2 or later
and has a decent amount of RAM and good processor speed you should be fine.

Yesman - Windows Mobile 6 is available now - but be careful when buying a device - there a few versions - Standard is for Smartphones (mobiles without a stylus) and Professional (Pocket PC - with a stylus) - look like you'll need to the Pro version!

One of these?

Looks cool - no mobile functions though - I know some IPAQ don't come with them! If it does what you want then that's cool!

Yesman - if you have any issues - please feel free to PM me - or post here!

Yep that's the one, I am still getting used to all it's functions, but at least it does what I want it to do.
